Every summer, the path along the lake bloomed with colors that seemed too vivid to be real—poppies swaying in the breeze, roses heavy with fragrance, and lavender stretching towards the sky. It was here that Elara and Victor had first met, many years ago, beneath a willow tree that dipped its branches into the water like fingers tracing secrets.
They were children then, Elara with her bare feet and wild hair, Victor with his nervous grin and pockets full of skipped stones. Their summers blurred together into a mosaic of laughter, sun-warmed days, and twilight promises whispered beneath a sky of soft pastels.
Years passed, and life pulled them in different directions—cities and wars, letters sent but never returned. Yet, each summer, Elara would walk the path alone, fingertips brushing the petals, heart heavy with the weight of what-ifs.
On a morning bathed in golden light, when the breeze carried whispers and the water glimmered like liquid glass, Victor returned. His hair was streaked with silver, eyes lined with stories untold, but the smile was the same—nervous and warm. Without words, he offered his hand, and Elara took it, their fingers intertwining like roots rediscovering the earth.

They walked slowly, as if to savor every moment, past the flowers that had witnessed their first meeting, past the willow tree now older and wiser. Their shadows stretched long and graceful behind them, two souls that had finally found their way back.
And as the sun dipped lower, painting the water with hues of amber and blush, it felt as though the world itself held its breath, celebrating the return of a love that had never truly faded.
